Technology – Sales team How Technology helps a Sales person and his team – let us see in this blog. With my experience I am writing this blog. You can add points from your side in the comment section. Generally any one can say, Sales person should have knowledge of the Product. But, no a days, almost all Companies are diversifying (all eggs not in one basket theory). Thousands of products, it’s almost not easy to remember the Products. Bullet points of each n every product can be developed by IT or R & D will be a handy if available as soft copy. Still further data, if required by client should be available on just a click. Sales person need not fumble, when customer asks questions about product. Availability readiness of the product will play major role, when client requires product immediately. Sales team should have access to Stock position in Factory or near by Depot will help to capture the orders. Not mere just stock position, sales team should be able to know, orders already taken, picked for dispatch and other stock related data, so as, sales person can tell when Company can deliver goods. IT, Works division can make a formulae such that if Sales team enters Product name and quantity, System shall be able to give Delivery dates. This also depends on availability of Raw material in the Factory, orders placed for raw materials should be also taken into account. Still precise, vehicle availability, full load or partial load, can be dispatched through general transport or client will pcik it up from Factory/Depot, etc also play role in improving sales. If a customer is existing one, Sales cycle for old orders (from indent to final payment period) will help how much advance to take from Customer. Total payment realization before dispatch/Whether to take order from that particular customer. Technology helps a lot, it’s just, one should know how to use it and when to use it. Thanking you
